- TECHNICAL SYSTEM – a set of interconnected technical means and equipment for the purpose of oil, gas and geothermal energy exploitation. Production and technical systems as per the Protocol comprise: an oil or gas gathering station with a facility, a producing well, a dispatch station, a compression or pump station, an oil pipeline, a hydro-thermal system.
- TECHNICAL MEANS – an assembly of mechanical and electrical parts and elements which perform a production function as a whole. Under the Protocol, technical means are integral parts of production and technical systems. These include a compressor, a pumping unit, a diesel electrical unit, a pumpjack, a downhole pump, a centrifugal or piston pump, a tank, a boiler, a distribution cabinet, well lines, gate valves, valves and other individual production assemblies.
- CONSTRUCTION – construction of facilities pursuant to the Law on Planning and Construction
- FACILITY MAINTENANCE: a group of activities performed in order to prevent malfunction and failure, i.e. repair of malfunctions and failures in and out of the warranty period, provision of technical assistance to users and gathering information about the facility.
Maintenance strategies (types and levels)
- BASIC MAINTENANCE OF A TECHNICAL SYSTEM OR TECHNICAL MEANS` OPERATOR - USER - daily activities of the Client - operator or user of technical systems and means aimed at maintaining the basic function of the means. These activities do not require special tools, specialists, procedure and equipment to maintain the design function. Only the operator`s activities are included in basic maintenance.
- SHIFT MAINTENANCE – MAINTAINER`S DUTY - scheduled activities of maintaining the production process technical systems and technical means for the purpose of an uninterrupted production process. The Client orders from the Contractor constant maintainers` duties necessary for an uninterrupted process and has them defined.
- ACTIVITIES OF CORRECTIVE (EMERGENCY) MAINTENANCE – the activity of maintaining technical systems carried out without a specific plan in order to address an operation standstill or potential standstills and replace parts of the technical systems. These are individual requests of the Client and individual activities of the Contractor. The emergency and corrective maintenance entails REPAIRING SOMETHING WHEN IT BREAKS DOWN.
- ACTIVITIES OF PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE - planned activities of technical means maintenance as per an appropriate schedule and procedures within a defined time period. These activities may also be unscheduled, carried out individually and within differently defined works and time periods if deemed necessary. The preventive maintenance entails REPAIRING BEFORE A BREAKDOWN, MAINTAINING THE FUNCTION.
- ACTIVITIES OF PROACTIVE MAINTENANCE – involve maintenance activities in relation to monitoring the status of technical systems and technical means in order to find potential malfunctions, repair frequent malfunctions and eliminate system failure. The proactive maintenance entails MONITORING, ANALYSING, IMPROVING AND ADVANCING THE STATUS.
- CERTIFIED SUPERVISORY MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES – involve legally prescribed activities of measurement, supervision and maintenance with regard to monitoring the status of technical systems and technical means. These are planned activities stipulated by law and secondary legislation of the Republic of Serbia and NIS rulebooks. These activities are related to safety and security aspects.
- GENERAL OVERHAUL OF TECHNICAL MEANS – activities restoring the technical means to the state with design parameters before it was put into operation.
- OVERHAUL OF TECHNICAL MEANS – activities used to repair technical means partially (a bigger unit - assembly - only the defect in the assembly) in a workshop and restore it to the condition before the malfunction.
- TURN-KEY MAINTENANCE - a set of maintenance activities involving technical means for the purpose of correct, uninterrupted operation of the technical means followed by optimal costs. The responsibility for planning, maintaining and proper functionality of technical means is transferred from the Client to the Contractor by this principle.
- VIP – TECHNICAL SYSTEMS AND TECHNICAL MEANS - involve the technical systems and technical means specified by the Client. These are of particular importance to the Client and the Contractor is to pay special attention to them when setting the maintenance priority and regimen of activities. Due to their particular importance to production, the Contractor must give them a high priority and define a special maintenance regimen for them.
Maintenance expressions
- SPARE PART - an integral, replaceable part of technical means provided for the purpose of minimum standstill in operation.
- SPARE ASSEMBLY - a functional, replaceable set of technical means provided or repaired for the purpose of minimum technical system standstill.
- COST CENTRE – a defined accounting unit which is a part of the NIS code list and SAP. With reference to the Contractor, it is the place where maintenance costs are made and with reference to the Client, it is the place where maintenance costs are submitted.
- WORK ORDER – planned activities or a set of large volume works which are specially monitored and calculated (preventive maintenance of an oil field, general overhaul, preventive inspection of a facility or oil field, etc.). A work order is shown as PSP in SAP.
- WORK REQUEST – the procedure of Contractor notification and engagement by the Client. It is a written document which may also come in an electronic form. In emergencies (standstills and facility failures), as well as outside working hours, the work request may be communicated to the persons in charge verbally or by telephone.
- RECORD OF MAINTENANCE – WORK LIST – REPORT ON WORKS PERFORMED – is the final document of maintenance activities drawn up by the Contractor upon performing the works. Only one of the listed documents is drawn up. The Client verifies the maintenance activities performed by its signature. The forms of these documents are specified in the appendix to the Protocol.
- PERSONS RESPONSIBLE - of the Client and the Contractor are the persons verifying the type, scope and quality of the works performed by their signature. Persons responsible by types of works, locations and technical systems are specified in the appendix to the Protocol.
- Specification of the works and services rendered – an SAP-defined document transferring (allocating) costs of the services rendered, works and material on a monthly basis from the Contractor to the Client.
- ОТС - APPLICATION SOFTWARE (DATABASE) - software – a network computer programme specified and intended for processing, displaying, filing and reporting in relation to technical systems maintenance information. It is a system used to manage the information on maintenance and technical systems operation.
- DEFECT DIAGNOSTICS - diagnosing malfunction, the types of defects and damages of the elements of the technical means. The types of and reasons for malfunctions and damages are determined by visual inspection, measurement and identification of deviations from design parameters..
- BREAKDOWN - the inability of technical systems and means to perform the design function due to breakage or failure of mechanical or electrical parts. A breakdown requires emergency and thought-out activity - action according to the situation for the purpose of restoring the functionality of the means or system.
- FAILURE OR STANDSTILL - the inability of production and technical systems and means to perform the design function. The assumed defect in a technical system or technical means does not constitute a failure or standstill.
