Renovated Machine Workshop Now Operational at the Refinery
Our colleagues at Naftagas – Tehnički Servisi have successfully completed the modernization of the machine workshop for servicing machinery and equipment, as well as for producing equipment and spare parts at the Pančevo Refinery.
The workshop houses three departments of the Process Systems Maintenance and Handling Unit in Pančevo: the Stationary Equipment Maintenance Department, the Rotating Equipment Maintenance Department, and the Machining Department.
Machining is performed on universal lathes, milling machines, and the new CNC machining center, along with other processing equipment. Grinding and welding operations take place in the central section of the workshop, producing noise, dust, and potential interference with machining. To ensure uninterrupted work, partition walls were installed to separate the machining area from the rest of the workshop, explains Dragana Pejoski, Quality Control Engineer and Project Manager for the workshop renovation. She adds that the modernization will further improve work quality in line with company standards and Serbian legal regulations.
The modernization was executed in three phases and included the replacement of lighting, doors, windows, flooring, reconstruction of wet areas, and refurbishment of walls and rooms. The old asphalt flooring, worn over more than 50 years of use, was mechanically damaged and oil-stained in many areas. During replacement, a grounding network was installed for galvanic connection of metal machine housings, machine foundations were prepared for improved process workflow, and a floor cross-section was fitted with waterproofing, a new concrete layer, and a polyurethane finish.

“At the completion of construction works, the workshop was fully equipped with new furniture. Although we faced various challenges during the project, teamwork, timely communication, and collaborative relationships allowed us to successfully overcome all obstacles,” says Dragana Pejoski.
