Modernization for Greater Efficiency: A State-of-the-Art Workshop Opened at “Naftagas – Tehnički Servisi”
Shut-off valves, various types of valves, taps, dampers, and similar components are a critical part of every pipeline at the Pančevo Refinery, and therefore an essential element of all oil and petroleum product processing operations.
Due to the increasing operational intensity at the Pančevo Refinery, our colleagues at Naftagas – Tehnički Servisi have opened a new valve workshop, aimed at further strengthening support for refinery processes.
The new, modernly equipped workshop enables employees to carry out the complete overhaul and testing process for all types of valves and fittings in one location. This process includes multiple phases—from equipment intake and preparation, through machining, to final testing under laboratory conditions.
So far, the entire process has been successfully completed thanks to the extensive experience, expertise, and resourcefulness of colleagues from the Safety Valve Testing Brigade.
As part of the workshop opening, the machinery park was upgraded and new equipment, tools, and accessories were acquired, enabling higher-quality and more efficient task execution.
Additionally, a section of the old facility, previously underutilized, was incorporated to house a laboratory dedicated to testing shut-off valves and safety valves.
Saša Tonković, Head of the Machining and Parts Production Department, highlighted that 136 million dinars were invested in the new workshop, making it one of the major projects within the Naftagas – Tehnički Servisi investment program.
“This was an extremely demanding project, requiring not only technical and technological expertise but also a high level of operational efficiency and proactivity to overcome numerous challenges. We received strong support from various organizational units across the company. I must emphasize that the project had a positive impact on team spirit—members of the Safety Valve Testing Brigade went above and beyond to ensure the workshop opened on schedule. It can be said that the new workshop has strengthened collaboration and connected employees even more,” Tonković stated.
